Joyce Schader Secular Humanist Scholarship

For students who are committed to bettering the world through applied science
Joyce Schader served as the Ramapo College Foundation’s Associate Director of Annual Giving until her retirement in 2015. “Secular humanism encourages critical thinking, and a public academic institution like Ramapo College is an appropriate place for young people to continue to develop that wisdom and cultivate free thinking,”Ms. Schader said when she created this award in 2015. Her intent with this scholarship is to recognize students who are committed to bettering the world through applied science, and who are “devoted to ethics and morals based on rationalism and humanism.” In October 2015, Joyce Schader lost her battle with lung cancer.
