Jose F. Montes Memorial Scholarship

Francisco Montes ’11, an alumnus of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), graduated from Ramapo College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Anthropology.

While at Ramapo, Francisco was primarily involved in his fraternity Lambda Theta Phi, which developed numerous educational programs and participated in multiple community service events each semester both on and off campus. He also played for the Men’s Volleyball Team during the 2006 season.

The Jose F. Montes Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Francisco’s father Jose F. Montes, who passed away on April 14, 2020, and to honor the numerous healthcare workers who cared for him and others during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize EOF students pursuing a career in the healthcare industry.

Eligibility:
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Open to Nursing majors and other related healthcare & human services majors
Students in the EOF program
