Elizabeth Mainardi Endowed Scholarship
For students going into a healthcare profession or medical school
Kathleen Mainardi and her husband Carlo created this endowed scholarship fund in 2003 as a gift to Carlo’s mother Elizabeth. Kathleen retired in 2012 as Assistant Vice President in the Ramapo College Division of Institutional Advancement. In creating the endowment, Kathleen sought to honor her mother-in- law, who had a profound influence on Carlo pursuing a college degree and ultimately becoming a physician.
Elizabeth Mainardi was born in 1922 in Little Falls, New Jersey and was a life-long resident of Totowa, New Jersey. She and her husband Joseph had two sons, Carlo and Donald. Elizabeth worked in the Passaic County Probation Office and was a court administrator for Passaic County. She was president of the Totowa Senior Citizens Club and Treasurer of the Italian American Club in Totowa. She passed away in October of 2004.
Elizabeth’s memory lives on in this endowed scholarship, which benefits Ramapo students who intend to pursue a career in health care, particularly medicine or nursing.
