William W. Briggs Scholarships II (59)

A former executive with ITT Industries, William Briggs audited courses at Ramapo for 20 years. The courses he took reflected a diversity of interests and ranged from contemporary Africa, Italian, Gerontology and Meteorology, among others. He became a member of the Friends of Ramapo in 1996 and was a steady supporter of the College through The Fund for Ramapo College until his death in 2012. Mr. Briggs created endowed scholarship funds in 2002 and 2004 to ensure that future generations of students would be able to attend Ramapo College. Applicants must submit a one- to two-page essay describing their career goals and how they arrived at this decision.
