NDK Perseverance Scholarship Endowment

For students with a documented disability who demonstrate “strength of character”
Nancy and Robert Kossowsky created the NDK Perseverance Scholarship in honor of their daughter, Nicole, and her success in meeting her own learning challenges. Nicole received a master’s degree in art education from Manhattanville College. She is currently a special education art teacher in the Bronx. The family’s intent in creating this scholarship is to “provide a scholarship for students who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.”Applicants must submit a letter of support from a faculty member, coach, clergy member, advisor/mentor, community leader, or employer/supervisor not related to them that describes the character traits “that set you apart.” In addition, applicants must submit an essay which describes the change you have seen in yourself over the past year. What character traits, including your leaning disability, have helped you to persevere and grow?
