BD Minority Achievement Scholarship Endowment
In 1897, Maxwell Becton and Fairleigh Dickinson founded Becton, Dickinson, and Company with a vision to improve outcomes for patients. Now an international medical technology company, BD serves healthcare institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, industry and the general public. In addition, BD’s Global Health Initiative partners with organizations around the world to address some of the most challenging global healthcare issues.
In 1998, the first BD Scholars Program was created at Ramapo College. Over the course of several years, the program funded a total of 41 minority students, many of whom were the first in their families to attend college. In 2015 the BD Minority Achievement Scholarship Endowment was created to provide a constant stream of funding to award to students planning to major in a STEM field or nursing.
